Well what a week it’s been for Four Pillars! The huge news is that we won our very first ALIA on Wednesday night! The Australian Liquor Industry Association awards were held up in Sydney and we took home the gong for Best Luxury Light Spirit over $70. We also got runner up in two categories, beaten by tiny brands Asahi and Aperol. Unreal!
Matt flew the flag for Four Pillars at the ALIAs, as Stu and I were at Pope Joan in Melbourne at our gin pig dinner. Chef Matt Wilkinson put on an amazing spread and the gin cocktails were flowing. Of course news of the win only amped up the celebrations. Let’s just say they finished at a kebab shop in Fitzroy at 3.30am… Black Pearl gets me every time.
We had an interesting couple of days at the distillery earlier in the week. The entire town of Healesville lost power for most of Sunday and Monday. You couldn’t even buy petrol! Our legendary staff pushed on though and we remained open – albeit with limited capacity. And at least the stills got a good clean.
Next week we are bottling the Christmas Gin and it’ll be released to the database the week after, so keep an eye out. It’s seriously good juice... I’ll be surprised if we’re not sold out by Christmas!
